Job summary

SE Health is hiring Therapy Assistants to support therapists at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital in Vaughan, Ontario. The role involves assisting in inpatient acute care across units, with weekend shifts and potential early evening hours.

You will work under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist and/or Physiotherapist, using your OTA/PTA training to help deliver patient-centered therapy, gait training, transfers and exercise programs. This is a casual weekend position.

Qualifications

• OTA/PTA diploma or certificate from an accredited college.
• Minimum 1 year experience in an inpatient setting.
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment, gait aids and wheelchairs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• BLS certificate and up-to-date immunizations.
• Criminal background and vulnerable sector checks current.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist in treatment plans.
• Perform prescribed treatments including gait training, balance, transfers, ROM and modalities.
• Deliver dynamic 1:1 or small group exercise classes when appropriate.
• Set up and prepare equipment; clean up after treatments.
• Keep therapy areas safe, clean and organized; communicate changes in patient status.
