Job Description

In this role as an Occupational Therapist, you will provide community visits to assess abilities and needs of individuals while working with multidisciplinary teams and equipment vendors to facilitate function. Client groups receiving treatment may include pediatrics for in-home or school services and/or adults with medical/health concerns.

What you’ll do:

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare workers and community resources
• Analyze environmental impacts on occupational performance and engagement issues
• Develop client-centered plans with clients and inter-professional teams, adjusting services to reflect a client-centered approach considering physical, social, cultural, institutional, and economic environments
• Demonstrate effective and evidence-based problem solving and judgment to address client needs
• Engage clients using a collaborative approach, building rapport and trust, and achieving mutual understanding regarding services to be provided
• Maintain knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide safe, efficient, and effective services, staying updated with changes in practice settings
• Maintain professional client records in compliance with ParaMed’s policies and standards of the regulatory body or Occupational Therapy college

What you bring:

• Registration with the provincial College of Occupational Therapists (in good standing)
• Accepting New Graduates Licensed
• ADP authorization preferred
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of community resources available for clients and families
• Current certification (within the past 12 months) of First Aid and CPR
• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
• Ability to provide a current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)
