Medical Clearance - Pre-placement health assessment (PPHA)
Essential Car Documentation - This post is a designated Essential Car User. Therefore, you must always hold a full valid driving license and provide your own car for use at work. You will receive the Essential Car User Allowance.
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Clearance - This post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here. We are looking for an experienced, driven, dynamic and passionate Occupational Therapist to join the Reablement team. You will be passionate about instigating positive change and want to make a real difference to the quality of life of Manchester’s residents. Reablement is a citywide service providing strength-based assessment and goal-focused intervention, within a person's home.
As an experienced Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing professional support and guidance, training team members, supporting students and apprentices and acting as an expert advisor on rehabilitation, equipment, adaptations and moving and handling. You will deliver impactful therapy interventions to enable people to remain independent within their homes and local communities and provide a comprehensive and streamlined service to individuals to maximise independence, choice, safety and quality of life.
You will manage a busy, complex and varied caseload, conducting strengths-based functional OT assessments, applying a person-centered approach, promoting positive risk taking, wellbeing and independence.
You will collaborate with Manchester residents and other healthcare professionals to ensure a joined-up approach to assessment, facilitating optimal outcomes, creating personalised reablement plans, increasing independence and reducing risk.

You will be resilient, empathic, compassionate and motivated.
You must be organised and have excellent oral communication and written skills and be able to complete detailed and comprehensive reports in a timely and efficient manner.
We are looking for a critical and innovative thinker who can gather and analyse information, manage risk and maximize citizens' quality of life.
You should have knowledge and experience of functional assessment, moving and handling, equipment, adaptations, and assistive technology and have an understanding of relevant social care and disability legislation.
Experience of providing therapeutic interventions to a variety of citizens, including those with mental health and learning difficulties.
You will maintain the standards set out by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT).
You will have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist.
We offer Monday - Friday working, with no working on bank holidays or weekends, and a 35-hour working week, supporting a positive work/life balance.
