Job summary

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is seeking a Program Manager to support the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health (PCMCH) Secretariat on a parental leave contract. The role centers on project management, policy advice, and coordinating major health initiatives for perinatal and newborn care in Ontario.

You will work with senior PCMCH leadership to guide strategic priorities, facilitate complex change, and ensure evidence-based planning across multiple sectors.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in health administration, public health, or related field.
  • 5 years of related advanced experience in a health policy, health care planning, or related function.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and executing planning initiatives and/or projects across multiple sectors and/or organizations.
  • Proven skill and success in leading large, complex change initiatives.
  • Advanced interpersonal and relationship management skills, including facilitation, conflict resolution and change management, with health service providers and government.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external partners at all levels, including the general public.
  • Experience leading quality improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Support and actively work to achieve the mandate of PCMCH.
  • Work closely with PCMCH Director of Perinatal and Newborn Health and other members of the PCMCH team to implement strategic priorities.
  • Facilitate and implement change and encourage an environment that is open to finding solutions that meet the strategic needs of the organization.
  • Select and use appropriate research, planning and design approaches, and incorporate best available evidence in the identification and prioritization of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and present written and verbal reports for internal and external stakeholders.

This recruitment is being undertaken on behalf of the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health (PCMCH). PCMCH is a provincial organization hosted at SickKids with the mandate to provide evidence-based and strategic leadership for perinatal, neonatal, and paediatric health services in Ontario. Are you passionate about advancing health equity and improving health system performance? Are you interested in using your planning and project management skills to lead the design and coordination of system improvement initiatives for perinatal and newborn healthcare services in Ontario?

We are currently looking for a Program Manager to join the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health (PCMCH) Secretariat on a contract basis to cover a parental leave. This position will provide project management and policy advice for the planning and implementation of several key initiatives and system-level committees. Interested candidates should have a solid background in project management, in-depth knowledge of the provincial health system, and stakeholder relations experience.

The Following Experience Is Considered An Additional Asset
  • Clinical experience in the reproductive or paediatric health field
  • In-depth understanding of the Ontario healthcare system
  • Experience working with diverse data sources
  • Proven success in working with Ontario's provincial ministries and agencies
