Job summary

SE Health in Markham, ON, is seeking a Payroll Specialist with Workday experience to support a large-scale payroll transformation and day-to-day operations. You will handle end-to-end payroll for a multi-provincial workforce, participate in testing and UAT, ensure compliance with Canadian payroll laws, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

This 6-month contract offers hybrid work, a competitive pay range of CAD 64,000–CAD 80,000 and opportunities to contribute to modernization across SE

Qualifications

• PCP designation is required.
• 3–5+ years of Canadian payroll experience.
• Direct experience supporting a Workday Payroll implementation, migration, upgrade, or transformation.
• Experience with payroll testing, UAT, payroll validation, and reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, taxation and employment standards.
• Experience processing payroll in a multi-provincial environment.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end payroll processing for a large, multi-provincial workforce.
• Participate in Workday Payroll implementation activities, testing, and deployment support.
• Execute payroll validation, parallel testing, reconciliations, and data audits.
• Investigate system-related payroll issues and recommend solutions.
• Assist with configuration reviews, process documentation, and UAT.
• Support payroll reporting, controls, and compliance processes.
• Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, IT, and implementation teams to ensure project success.
• Contribute to payroll modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian payroll legislation and organizational policies.
