Job summary

Paladin Airport Security Services Ltd. in Vancouver area is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join the collaborative Payroll & Benefits team.

You will ensure accurate, timely payroll processing in a federally regulated, unionized setting, handling complex provisions with confidentiality and precision. The role requires strong CRA knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and effective communication to explain payroll concepts to employees and leaders.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of CRA legislation and payroll best practices.
• Advanced proficiency in payroll software and Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
• Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to translate payroll concepts clearly to employees and leaders.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines without compromising accuracy.
• Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to act as a resource or delegate for management.
• Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is required.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and in compliance with internal policies, collective agreements, and CRA legislation.
• Interpret and apply provisions of multiple collective agreements to ensure correct pay calculations and entitlements.
• Partner closely with HR, Operations, and Finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and provide guidance.
• Support management through reporting, analysis, and acting as a delegate where required.
• Participate in, and at times lead, process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and enhance payroll efficiency.
• Maintain thorough, organized documentation and uphold the highest standards of data integrity and confidentiality.
