Job summary

Altis is seeking an experienced payroll professional to join our HR team in Ottawa for a 6-month, on-site contract. You will manage bi-weekly payroll for ~250 employees across multiple payrolls, maintain HRIS records, and support HRIS implementation activities. Excellent English communication and adherence to confidentiality are essential.

Background check required. Work will be in a real estate and property development environment with opportunities to contribute to HR initiatives and process

Qualifications

• 2+ years of progressive payroll administration experience with full-cycle ownership.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now or another large HRIS/payroll platform.
• Working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and standards.
• Advanced Excel skills and data analysis abilities.
• Experience with a large payroll/HRIS system such as ADP or Ceridian.
• Strong organization, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support full-cycle, bi-weekly payroll for ~250 hourly, salaried, and commission-based employees across multiple payrolls.
• Maintain payroll records in the HRIS (new hires, changes, leaves, terminations).
• Assist with payroll reconciliations, reporting, reimbursements, and inquiries.
• Support HR administration including onboarding, records management, and benefits.
• Contribute to HRIS implementation activities, testing and data validation.
