Job summary

A leading company in Toronto is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team. This temporary role involves ensuring accurate payroll processing, managing data files for ADP, and preparing various payroll reports. Our client in Toronto, ON is actively looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their team.

Position Description:

• Ensure all data files are complete for transmission to ADP in a timely and accurate manner.
• Investigate and resolve payroll issues.
• Create and/or run reports from payroll or the time and attendance system.
• Maintains accuracy of the Employee database on the ADP portal
• Ensure the timely processing of journal entries into the accounting system
• Prepare reconciliations for payroll accounts.
• Prepare and submit payroll deductions and remittances on a timely basis and ensure records are up to date.
• Prepare T4's, ROE's, and various payroll reports as requested.
• Reconcile WSIB, EHT and payroll deductions for annual reporting.
• Prepare Directors fees on a semi-annual basis.
• Assist with the financial audit of the payroll function.
• Provide payroll related information to accounting departments as required.
• Coordinate employee benefits and administration as necessary.
• Process vacation and leave of absence requests in Time and Attendance and ADP
• Assist with the administration of Security Assessments.
• Arrange and schedule interviews when required.
• Maintain payroll and personnel files.
• Maintain employee training records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Canadian Payroll Association – PCP Certificate Required.
• Minimum of 3 years' payroll experience in a multi-location environment.
• Experience with ADP and Time and Attendance systems.
• Previous work experience in processing payroll for hourly union and salaried employees.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills is required.
• Strong computer skills specifically with MS Office.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
