Payroll Specialist (6-Month Contract) – Confidential

Compensation: $60K-$65K-Based on experience.

We are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist for a 6-month contract role at a confidential organization. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and experienced payroll professional looking to contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Process weekly payroll for unionized, non-union, and salaried employees
  • Ensure accuracy and timely submission of payroll data
  • Review and validate timesheets, deductions, and adjustments
  • Manage T4s, ROEs, T2200s, garnishments, and special payroll deductions
  • Maintain employee payroll records confidentially and accurately
  • Prepare GL entries, assist with payroll variance analysis and reconciliation
  • Collaborate with Finance and HR teams to ensure accurate records
  • Support year-end reporting and statutory filings
  • Act as the primary contact for all payroll-related inquiries
  • Prioritize tasks and meet critical payroll deadlines

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of payroll experience
  • PCP certification (completed or in progress) is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation & ESA
  • Proficient in Excel and experienced with payroll software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks)
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
