Summary: This position processes payroll and provides general administrative and technical support to the Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are considered essential to the job. With or without reasonable accommodation, qualified individuals must have the ability to:

  • Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly in-house payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Process monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax reports for tax filings, including W-2 processing, and Affordable Care Act (ACA) Reporting.
  • Collect and manage online hourly time clock entries for payroll processing.Advise employees and supervisors on system use, as well as related labor and timekeeping laws and policies.
  • Administer sick, vacation, and personal holiday accruals and tracking. Advise employees on related policies.
  • Provide clerical support by answering phone calls, greeting visitors in the HR area, assisting with form requests, certifying I-9 Forms, and responding to email requests for assistance.
  • Maintain and prepare wage reporting data for the annual worker’s compensation audit.
  • Maintain confidential employee records according to legal and Seminary retention requirements.
  • Ensure applicable payroll deductions and other entries are maintained for employee benefit plans and the ACA.

·Track and upload monthly contributions for GuideStone Retirement Plan.

·Provide support by preparing various internal and external employee/employment reports.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma/GED required.College courses or certificate in accounting/payroll and/or human resources, and 2+ years of payroll, HR, or accounting experience preferred. Experience with an in-house payroll system is a plus.

Language Skills: English required. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of mangers, clients, customers and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:Ability toadd, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must know MS Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Internet, 10-key by touch; Must be able to adapt to new systems; Jenzabar or other in-house system experience is a plus.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear; the employee is frequently required to sit.The person is occasionally required to stand and walk.Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and ability to focus.
