Job summary

Aplin is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage full-cycle payroll administration for its employees in Canada. The role requires strong accuracy, organization, and the ability to handle competing priorities while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities include processing new hires, conducting payroll audits, handling union dues, and resolving payroll-related inquiries in collaboration with Payroll, HR, and site leaders. Prior union payroll experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Review new employee information, process new hires, and maintain accurate payroll and employee records.
• Respond to employee and manager inquiries, investigate discrepancies, and resolve payroll-related issues.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.

Qualifications

• Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of payroll experience.
• Experience with UKG, Kronos, and/or UltiPro payroll systems is required.
• Previous union payroll experience is considered an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• A solid understanding of Alberta Employment Standards legislation.
