Job summary

The Portfolio Group is seeking a Payroll Manager for its Toronto, Canada office. The role reports to the Director of Payroll and Benefits and oversees a team of five in a multi-cycle payroll environment for about 2,000 employees across unionized and non-unionized groups.

Salary ranges CAD100,000–CAD120,000 per annum, with benefits from day one and a 4% RRSP contribution. Experience with ADP WFN or Dayforce is a plus, as is M&A payroll integration experience.

Qualifications

• 5 direct reports.
• 2,000 hourly and salaried employees in a multi-cycle payroll environment.
• Multi-union experience with multi collective bargaining agreements.
• Year end compliance leading T4s, T2200s.
• PCP or PLP certification considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll team of 5 and oversee daily payroll operations.
• Manage payroll for 2,000 hourly and salaried employees in a multi-cycle environment.
• Ensure year-end compliance with T4s and related forms; support audits.
• Assist with mergers and acquisitions payroll integration.

The ideal candidates for this role will have strong payroll compliance knowledge for ON including leading year end payroll audits and T4s.

Reporting to the Director of Payroll and Benefits this candidate will be responsible for:

• 5 direct reports
• 2,000 hourly and salaried employees in a multi-cycle payroll environment
• multi-union experience knowledge of working with multi collective bargaining agreements
• systems experience with ADP WFN, Dayforce considered an asset
• previous experience managing mergers and acquistions
• year end compliance expertise leading T4s, T2200s
• implementation experience an asset
• PCP or PLP certification considered a plus
