Wage:$70,000 – $82,000/year + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits package + RRSP and more.

Job Description

The Payroll Analyst plays a crucial role in managing payroll processes for hourly and salaried employees while ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in payroll software, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. The Payroll Analyst will collaborate closely with the Human Resources and Finance departments to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities to include the following, but not limited to:

  • Processing and auditing full cycle biweekly payroll for employees (150 + employees)
  • Maintaining payroll records and coordinating updates related to hires, terminations, pay changes, benefits and so forth.
  • Reconciling payroll accounts and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with HR and Finance departments.
  • Ensuring compliance with provincial & federal laws and best practices.
  • Preparing and distributing reports related to payroll, labor costs, taxes, and other key metrics.
  • Conducting account reconciliation to ensure all payroll transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Supporting internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Year end activities – T4s, statutory reporting, etc
  • Staying current on changes in payroll legislation and best practices.
  • Collaborating with Human Resources to address payroll-related inquiries and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Other payroll-related projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Analyst or in a similar role within the manufacturing or industrial sectors
  • Payroll Compliance Certification preferred
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or HR – with a strong focus on Payroll
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (Workday) and accounting principles.
  • Well versed in Canadian payroll legislation – provincial and federal
  • Familiarity with account reconciliation processes and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across departments.
