Job summary

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join the Finance team in Toronto. You will handle payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and statutory filings for multiple employee groups, supporting month-end and year-end close with accuracy and timeliness.

The role requires 3–5 years of payroll accounting experience, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and strong Excel skills. CPA enrollment is preferred; ADP and Oracle Cloud ERP experience are assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
• Three to five years of payroll accounting/operations experience.
• CPA enrollment or designation preferred; PCP/CPM asset.
• Advanced Excel; experience with ADP and Oracle Cloud ERP is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, organization, and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related GL accounts.
• Support payroll processing for salaried, hourly, executive groups.
• Assist with month-end/year-end close and financial reporting.
• Ensure timely statutory remittances and payroll tax reporting.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Benefits, and Finance to resolve issues.
