Qualifications

• Previous experience in an accounting and payroll role.
• Experience processing payroll and understanding payroll legislation and compliance.
• Experience with US payroll, including multi-state payroll and compliance is a strong asset.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly/weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable legislation.
• Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, benefits, and remittances.
• Prepare and submit payroll-related reports, including ROEs, T4s, and union remittances.
• Enter and reconcile accounting data including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
• Maintain accurate financial and employee records.
• Respond to payroll and accounting inquiries from employees and management.
• Support other administrative and accounting duties as required.
