Job summary

Aecon Calgary Construction Operations is hiring a Paving Foreman to support the paving division in Calgary, Alberta for the 2026 season. The role requires coordinating with asphalt plant, trucks, and crews to ensure quality paving work.

You will oversee day-to-day construction activities, ensure safety, and maintain communication with Superintendents and Project Managers. The position is based on-site in Calgary and requires flexibility for overtime and shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as an Asphalt Paving Foreman.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license or better.
• Willing to work overtime, night shifts and weekends.
• Must comply with the company's drug & alcohol program, including testing requirement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the asphalt mix is placed to the correct grade and thickness.
• Coordinate with trucks delivering asphalt to the paver.
• Inspect the prepared area before paving and inspect paved surfaces for quality and smoothness.
• Input daily time and manage all daily construction activities on the site.
• Oversee crews on large scale asphalt paving projects.
• Plan, schedule, organize, direct and control construction projects to schedule, specs and budget.

Position Overview

Calgary Construction Operations is hiring a Paving Foreman to support our Paving Division in Calgary, Alberta for the 2026 Season.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the asphalt mix is placed to the correct grade and thickness.
• Communicate with asphalt plant to perform trucking & material cut offs.
• Inspect the prepared area before paving.
• Coordinate with trucks delivering asphalt to the paver.
• Inspect paved surfaces for quality and smoothness.
• Responsible for inputting time daily.
• Responsible for managing all daily construction activities on the site(s).
• Overseeing crews on large scale asphalt paving projects.
• Plan, schedule, organize, direct and control construction projects from start to finish according. to schedule, specifications, and budget.
• Working and communicating with Superintendents and Project Managers/Coordinators.

Required Knowledge & Experience

• 3+ years' experience as an Asphalt Paving Foreman.
• Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
• Maintains a valid Class 5 driver's license or better.
• Willing to work overtime, nightshift and weekends, as required.
• Must comply with the company's drug & alcohol program, including testing requirement.
