Job summary

Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland, Ontario is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to accurately deliver and retrieve patient meals, assist with room service, and support cafeteria operations, while following GBGH service standards.

The role requires a Grade 12 diploma, Food Safety training, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen; compensation includes an hourly rate with benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Hospitality, Culinary or Nutrition Management diploma an asset.
• Food Safety Certification recognized by the Ministry of Health.
• Minimum 1 year food service experience in institutional setting.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to read numbers and use an iPad POS system.
• Experience with Computrition or similar menu software an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and retrieve patient meals accurately and timely.
• Assist with quantity food prep and patient meal orders.
• Serve customers in the cafeteria, stock supplies, and perform cleaning duties.
• Adhere to hospital and departmental standards and procedures.

Education

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

Hospitality, Culinary or Nutrition Management diploma (asset)

Food Safety Certification (Ministry of Health)

Read/write English; follow instructions

Ability to operate iPad POS system

Food service or related on-the-job training (asset)
