Kelowna General Hospital in Kelowna, B.C. is seeking a motivated and organized Permanent full-time Patient Care Coordinator to support and lead our team.
This position works rotating days – 06:45 to 17:55.
Days off: Rotating.
The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), within a patient and family-centered care model.
The PCC is responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations and ensuring quality patient care within designated clinical areas. This role supports the seamless movement of patients through the healthcare system and access to appropriate resources. The PCC supervises staff, serves as a role model and resource for clinical decision-making, conducts clinical assessments, and provides counseling and education to families. They review, analyze, and recommend improvements to administrative systems such as policies, procedures, standards of patient care, staffing levels, and quality improvement initiatives. The PCC liaises with the interdisciplinary team to identify, coordinate, and utilize resources efficiently, including planning staff educational needs.
