Job Description

The Pastry Sous Chef oversees the production of all pastries, including Italian pasticcini, cakes, desserts, cookies, candies, and other dolci. They report directly to the Executive Chef and Pastry Chef de Cuisine, managing a team of approximately 10 employees. Responsibilities include supervising pastry production, managing the team, ensuring quality standards, producing decorative items, ordering supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in high-volume pastry preparation
  • Knowledge of Italian pastries and techniques
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Post-secondary culinary/pastry arts training preferred
Additional Information
  • Flexible onsite work schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours
  • Experience with pastry equipment such as ovens and mixers
Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary of $65k - $75k, with benefits including health insurance, paid time off, parental leave, 401K or RRSP, bonuses, and employee discounts.
