At Mission Hill Family Estate, our culinary program is dedicated to the sourcing and promotion of local, sustainable, seasonal food. Our Cuisine du Terroir approach lends itself to a light-handed manner of preparation that respects the character of the ingredient and where it is sourced. Our varietal and herb gardens are steps away from our kitchens, and we educate and encourage our team members to explore foraging opportunities that lay at our doorstep.

What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to an exceptional culinary experience for all guests
  • Execute daily station mise en place and service to the standards set by the Head Pastry Chef
  • Oversee the pastry station for lunch and dinner services, keeping to the standards set by the Head Pastry Chef
  • Plating and serving desserts and for the restaurant and events as required
  • Work in a kitchen with a changing, seasonal menu that utilizes the best of local ingredients and suppliers
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, be forward thinking and adaptable
  • Adapt to the unique service each day brings with a sense of confidence and excitement, sometimes performing roles outside your job description

What You Have:

  • Experience in a similar standard of kitchen
  • Be a self-starter, have high standards of your own and be a team player
  • Solid Pastry techniques and skills, good knowledge of ingredients and seasonality
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive work ethic and professional attitude
  • Current “Food Safe” certification (or equivalent)
  • A real desire to work in a fast-paced kitchen that makes everything from scratch
  • Quick learner, able to comprehend, incorporate & impart knowledge effectively
  • Open availability until October
  • The ability to train and mentor other colleagues
