Job description

If you are looking for a team that brings out the best in each other, a team that has fun and is proud of their work - we want to hear from you! Cafe Quattro within the Four Points by Sheraton - Kelowna Airport is currently looking for a full-time Chef de Partie.

We are also on a bus route, with a stop just outside the hotel, and our complimentary shuttle also picks up employees from the bus loop at UBCO!

What will you be doing?

The Cafe Quattro Chef de Partie is a team leader, running all operations in the absence of the Executive Chef. Duties include but are not limited to: ordering, scheduling, positive and disciplinary actions, menu creation, coding, and knowledge and execution of all line stations.

  • Bring a positive attitude into the kitchen daily and treat all staff with respect.
  • Lead by example in proper food handling, execution, and staff development within the work area.
  • Lead the team and operations to their fullest capacity.
  • Challenge yourself to be the best CDP possible and encourage fellow CDPs to do the same, fostering teamwork.
  • Review daily production sheets and line checklists with colleagues, even without the Chef present.
  • Prepare your station and delegate production of necessary food items to ensure timely service and no interruption to guest experience.
  • Participate in training junior staff and apprentices in culinary skills.
  • Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications to maintain consistency and standards.
  • Carry out station opening and closing procedures according to standards, completing checklists.
  • Minimize overproduction and food waste.
  • Operate all kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Handle, store, prepare, and serve food safely, following hotel and government Food Safety guidelines.
  • Report deficiencies in kitchen equipment or food quality promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Chef or Chef.
  • Manage daily operations of your station and Cafe Quattro.
  • Prepare lists of required food products for stations and production.
  • Have experience and proficiency in both a la carte and production cooking.
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
