Job summary

Calfrac Well Services in Red Deer, AB is seeking an Apprentice Parts Technician to join the Maintenance Department. You will focus on organizing the parts room, paperwork accuracy, and maintaining inventory for the district.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role emphasizes safe work practices, effective communication, and timely supply of parts for daily operations. Forklift experience is an asset; bilingual skills are not required.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely according to company safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Attend pre-job and safety meetings as required.
  • Provide courteous counter service to internal and external customers.
  • Communicate with Maintenance management to ensure a continuous supply of parts.
  • Adhere to operational policies to meet safety objectives.
  • Organize and maintain inventory areas in the parts room.
  • Handle shipping and receiving duties.
  • Maintain purchase and issuing records for parts.
  • Follow proper shift crossover procedures.
  • Operate a forklift safely as required.

PARTS TECHNICIAN - Apprentice **This position is located in Red Deer, AB.

The Parts Technician - Apprentice will be a member of the Maintenance Department responsible for the organization of the parts in the parts room. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Parts Technician - Apprentice will focus on proper paperwork, supply, and maintenance of parts for the District.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Work safely in accordance with all company safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
  • Must attend all pre job meetings and attend safety meetings when required
  • Provide courteous and professional counter service to all internal and external customers
  • Effectively communicate with Maintenance management regarding a continuous supply and maintenance of required parts
  • Ensure adherence to operational policies and procedures to achieve safety objectives
  • Organize and maintain the inventory areas
  • Shipping and receiving
  • Maintain purchase and issuing records
  • Adhere to proper shift crossover procedure
  • Safe operation of a forklift as required
KEY ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES:
  • S hifts Schedule 8/6 (8 days on and 6 days off)
  • Follow and enforce safe work procedures, codes, and regulations
  • Energetic self-starter, able to work in a dynamic environment
  • Able to handle multiple tasks by prioritizing and maintaining a high attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Work and inspire others to work at high performance levels
  • Knowledge of coil tubing, fracturing, and truck and trailer an asset but not required
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word and is essential
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Team player with the ability to conduct work with professionalism
  • This position is considered to be a Safety Sensitive Position and may require additional screening
  • This position has bona fide physical requirements and may require additional screening (please refer to the applicable Physical Demands Profile)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Enrolled in or working towards the Parts Technician Certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Satisfactory Drivers Abstract required
  • Previous forklift experience is an asset
