Job summary

Alta Equipment Group is seeking a full-time Parts Specialist for our Woodbridge, ON location. You will create and manage parts requisitions, process orders, and maintain accurate stock levels while providing outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.

The role requires at least 1 year of parts counter experience, a high school diploma, and strong communication and basic math skills. Excellent teamwork and reliability are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of heavy equipment, auto or truck parts counter experience preferred.
  • High school diploma is required.
  • Ability to identify parts by sight and name.
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism are required.
  • Basic math skills and ability to work with US currency and measurements.
  • Canadian work experience is not required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage parts requisitions.
  • Process orders and dispense items from stock.
  • Maintain inventory control and stock rotation.
  • Enter data into the company system and respond to stock/delivery inquiries.
  • Source parts from suppliers and manage pricing/availability.
  • Assist invoicing of parts to external customers.
  • Support other tasks as needed and uphold excellent customer service.

Compensation range: $21.63 to $32.69 per hour. This range is regarding base salary and does not include benefits. Overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographical location, skillset, education, and experience.

Responsibilities

Our Materials Handling Group is currently seeking a full-timeParts Specialist for our Woodbridge, ON branch. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Creates and manages parts requisitions
  • Process orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock
  • Maintains inventory control and stock rotation
  • Enters information into the company system to maintain up-to date stock levels and customer information, respond to inquiries on stock levels and delivery times
  • Ensures a healthy relationship with vendors
  • Assists in the invoicing of parts to external customers
  • Provide support and assistance on other tasks as they arise
  • Demonstrate our commitment to excellent customer service by acting fairly, with honesty, and a commitment to ethical business practices.
  • Responsible for successfully adding to the company goal of increasing parts sales volumes and margins.
  • Actively source all makes of parts for Yale and many other brands of forklift, burden carriers, sweeper/scrubbers, and other types of material handling equipment.
  • Working with suppliers in a professional manner for pricing, availability, and ensuring prompt order fulfillment.
  • Following prescribed cash, credit, and check processing procedures
  • Processing cores, warranties, and new return merchandise as required at a point of sale
  • Creating purchase orders and verifying receipt of the delivery
  • Creating pick tickets for customers and parts transfers between branches
  • Assist in handling customer complaints and concerns and make sure the problem is corrected to both the customer and Yale’s satisfaction
  • Speed and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Assist in keeping department organized and orderly

Qualifications
  • A minimum of one year of previous heavy equipment, auto or truck parts counter experience desired
  • High school diploma
  • Basic mechanical understanding and the ability to identify by sight and by name the parts of an industry related piece of equipment
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism is required
  • Knowledge and understanding between mark-up and gross margin
  • Equipment operation: Forklifts and hydraulic hose making is preferred
  • Language Skills - Basic: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills - Basic: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability - Basic: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • We do not require Canadian work experience for this role.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
  • Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will sit; Occasionally will stand, walk, reach with hands and arms,, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Vision: To see both close and at a distance, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and see color
  • Lift and/or Move Functions: Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift 26 to 100+ pounds
  • Work Environment: Occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts
