Job summary

Inland Truck & Equipment in Kamloops, BC is seeking a Parts Counterperson to assist customers and technicians in locating required parts while achieving monthly sales targets. You will promote parts and accessories, provide exceptional service, and stay current on product updates.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong communication, organizational skills, and a valid driver’s license; forklift certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Post-secondary diploma or trade certification preferred.
• Prior parts counter sales experience or parts/warehousing knowledge preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
• Ability to manage time and priorities across multiple tasks.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Professional ethics and customer-focused approach.
• Valid Driver’s License; forklift certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote sale of parts and accessories to all customers: walk-in, phone, or technicians.
• Provide exceptional customer service to achieve maximum customer satisfaction.
• Stay updated on new products and updates through continuous learning.
• Locate parts as requested by customers and technicians.
• Prepare parts invoices and credits; issue parts for work orders.
• Participate in regular inventory counts and help maintain stock.

PAY RATE Wage range for this position is $27.00- $46.00 based on experience.

THE OPPORTUNITY As a Parts Counterperson, you will be responsible for assisting customers and technicians in obtaining required parts and supplies while achieving monthly sales targets through encouraging additional parts sales.

Your Responsibilities

• Promote sale of parts and accessories to all customers: walk-in, telephone or internal technicians
• Provide exceptional customer service to maximum customer satisfaction
• Keep abreast of all new products and updates through continuous learning
• Locate all parts as requested by customers and/or technicians
• Prepare parts invoices and credit notes for all counter sales and issues parts for all work orders
• Participate in regular inventory cycle counts and assist in maintaining stock
• Accurately document all shipping and receiving of parts
• Maintain files and update parts related information on a regular basis

What We Look For

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Post-secondary diploma or trade certification preferred
• Prior parts counter sales experience or parts/warehousing knowledge preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Great interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to work with others
• Ability to self-manage time and set priorities while handling multiple responsibilities
• Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong business ethics with a professional approach at all times
• Must have valid Driver’s License
• Forklift Certification or ability to attain certification
