Job summary

Maxim is seeking a motivated individual to join our Brandon team as a parts counter specialist. You will help customers identify the right heavy-duty truck and trailer parts, process orders and invoices, and ensure accurate stock and display maintenance.

Hours are Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with a rotating Saturday shift every three weeks. Prior front-line sales experience is preferred, along with a strong customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of heavy-duty truck & trailer parts experience preferred but not required.
• 2+ years with front line sales and customer service required.
• Prior parts sourcing or purchasing of products an asset.

Responsibilities

• Sells parts to customers and builds relationships by identifying parts, taking orders, creating invoices, billing freight, and collecting payment.
• Input lost sales into Karmak business system.
• Upsell products and advise customers on applications.
• Stock shelves, maintain counter/store area, and assist with displays.
• Source parts by calling suppliers and competitors; seek technical information on products.

Job description

Have no previous parts experience but have a desire to join a progressive team and learn a new trade? Then we are looking for an individual that likes to problem solve and help customers find the parts they need to keep their fleets rolling.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM and a Saturday 8:00AM-4:00PM shift (every 3 weeks).

Responsibilities

• Sells parts to customers and builds customer relationships by correctly identifying parts needed, taking orders, creating invoices, billing out freight, and collecting payment.Inputs lost sales (e.g. due to no stock) into Karmak business system.
• Increases sales and decreases obsolete stock by making suggestions, up‑selling products and advising customers on product applications
• Stocks shelves and reports stock levels.Maintains counter and store area and may assist in putting up displays.Participates in annual parts inventories, clean-up and preparation work.
• Sources parts for select customers by phoning suppliers and competitors.Seeks technical information regarding new & current products and orders merchandise within established limits.
• Accepts returned goods from customers for a credit

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of heavy‑duty truck & trailer parts experience preferred but not required
• 2+ years with front line sales and customer service required
• Prior parts sourcing or purchasing of products an asset
• Customer service focus & ability to build relationships
• Able to up‑sell products to customers
• Strong numbers orientation, attention to detail
• Basic computer knowledge with ability to learn in‑house systems
• Knowledge of Karmak business system preferred
• A team player, shows initiative, and a continual learner attitude
• Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance
• Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through informal automotive/truck mechanical experience a definite asset
• Forklift license or ability to achieve an asset
