Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a dedicated Parts Technician for the Saskatoon branch to support parts counter sales and customer service. You will handle customer relationships, order processing, and parts sourcing for CAT and non-CAT parts, both over the phone and in person.

Responsibilities include backorder management, shipping estimates, and participation in safety and ongoing projects. A strong team orientation and attention to detail are essential.

Position Overview:

Join Finning Canada, the world's largest Caterpillar dealer. We are currently looking for a dedicated Parts Technician for a parts counter sales position based in Saskatoon. This position is responsible for handling a variety of parts counter sales related duties within the branch. Primary responsibility includes developing and maintaining customer relationships, providing sales support for telephone, walk in and shop parts needs, as well as effectively managing all facets of the parts ordering process and system.

Job Description:
Major Job Functions:
  • Provide front counter (over the phone and walk in) and/or shop parts counter sales support.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships.
  • Source and order new and used CAT and non-CAT parts.
  • Manage backorders and provide updates regarding estimated shipping.
  • Process parts credits and customer orders.
  • Participate and adhere to on-site safety requirements.
  • Participate in parts sales related special projects and assignments.
  • Participate in call quality and performance initiatives as required.
Other functions may include but are not limited to:
  • Pulling customer and branch parts orders.
  • Packing and labeling parts orders for shipments.
  • Warehouse duties and housekeeping as required.
  • Hydraulic hose building.
  • Core inspections.
Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast paced team environment.

  • The ability to form strong relationships with customers and co-workers.

  • Successful completion of grade 12.
  • 3 - 5 years previous experience working with customer sales, parts and/or warehouse is required.
Assets:
  • Caterpillar parts product knowledge would be considered an asset.
  • A working knowledge of DBS, Service Information System (SIS)/ Technical Marketing Information (TMI), ProcureIT and Antares will be considered an asset.
  • Journeyperson Parts certification is preferred.
  • If candidate is not certified, a willingness to complete the Parts Apprenticeship Program mandatory as well as the successful completion of Finning Pre-Apprenticeship Testing.
