Job description

About Charitable Impact

Charitable Impact started as a bold idea and evolved quickly into an unwavering belief: everyone should have access to resources that help them build the brighter future they imagine. We provide a donor-centric giving platform, supported by a donor advised fund, that helps people amplify their generosity to create the change they want to see in the world. We simplify the giving process, allowing donors to manage all of their giving from one place, access timely tax receipts, and donate in a variety of ways including cash, publicly traded stocks, company shares, and many other options. Anyone can use it to find and give to their favourite charities from one place, give with friends and others, and get support with making their biggest impact possible. So far, Canadians across the country have donated more than $1.5 billion through our platform.

We take care of each other

Our team members enjoy competitive salaries, purposeful perks, and a culture that gives back and has fun doing it. We are proud to have been named one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures of 2024. We support each other, learn from one another, and grow together. We're on an adventure to make giving an intentional and meaningful part of daily life. So, come and join us, and let's build a brighter future together.

What you’ll do

The Partnerships and Development Manager plays a key role in advancing Charitable Impact’s Cause Funds program by inviting donors to participate in a new approach to philanthropic giving. Cause Funds solve a core donor challenge: caring about a cause but not knowing where to give to effectively create impact. Led by trusted, community-rooted leaders, Cause Funds are curated portfolios of high-impact charities working within a specific cause area that give donors an easy and confident way to support the causes they care about. By connecting donors to Cause Funds and their leaders, this role builds trust, deepens engagement, and helps donors feel confident, inspired, and connected to their impact. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, takes initiative, and brings a donor-first mindset to everything they do.

You’ll be responsible for cultivating and stewarding individual, corporate, and foundation donors—while also owning the development and improvement of our fundraising approach. This includes creating processes and systems, identifying new opportunities, and helping donors feel confident and excited about their giving.

We’re looking for someone who is entrepreneurial, proactive, and energized by people and purpose. This role requires a strong communicator, story-teller, and relationship builder who can represent the voice of the donor while championing the vision of Cause Funds.

We are a hybrid office, with team members working from home and in our Vancouver office. This role requires in-office attendance 1-2 times per week and availability during PST business hours.

Your responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with Cause Leaders and support their donor engagement efforts through tailored guidance and mentorship
  • Build and manage a portfolio of mid-sized and major gift donors—including individuals, corporations, and foundations—through thoughtful cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and long-term relationship development
  • Identify and pursue new fundraising and partnership opportunities, including outreach to untapped networks, sectors, or aligned organizations
  • Own and continuously improve the fundraising function within the Cause Funds program, including systems, processes, strategies, and reporting
  • Promote Charitable Impact’s Cause Funds to engaged donors and connect them with the causes they care about and the trusted leaders behind each fund
  • Represent Cause Funds externally through meetings, events, and strategic outreach—to build visibility and spark new connections
  • Maintain a donor-centric outlook, acting as a liaison between donors, the Cause Funds team, and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the development of donor engagement campaigns by sharing insights into donor motivations and giving behaviors
  • Work closely with donor-facing teams across Charitable Impact—including Donor Experience, Philanthropic Advisory, and Charitable Investment Programs—to strengthen collaboration and identify opportunities to work more effectively together
  • Manage and execute special projects and requests from internal and external stakeholders
  • Track and report on donor activity, prospecting efforts, and relationship progress through CRM tools and internal reporting systems; perform other administrative duties.

What we're looking for

  • A self-starter with a high degree of ownership—energized by connecting people, building relationships, and creating opportunities. You love networking, are entrepreneurial in spirit, and approach challenges with curiosity and initiative.
  • Completion of Bachelor’s degree in business, arts, social sciences, humanities, communication, public policy, or related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, business development, or a related relationship-focused role, preferably in the charitable sector, with a strong ability to inspire support, communicate value, build trusted relationships, and successfully close gifts or deals
  • Proven success in donor prospecting, relationship management, stewardship, and recognition
  • Experience managing a relationship pipeline and leading in-person meetings with key supporters or prospects
  • Solid understanding of fundraising principles, with interest in or exposure to new and innovative approaches
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills—able to distill complex ideas and engage diverse audiences
  • Highly organizational skills, self-direction, and ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with the charitable sector and its dynamics, including how funders, non-profits, and partners work together

Bonus points

  • Familiarity with CRA charitable giving rules, tax receipting, and compliance in the Canadian charitable sector

Compensation

The expected starting salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000/year.

Total rewards

  • Extended health care benefits. Vision, dental and paramedical.
  • Annual health spending account. To spend on what's important to you.
  • Professional development. We believe in supporting our team members in achieving their professional goals.
  • RRSP matching. To encourage you to save for your future.
  • Monthly donation & volunteer matching. To encourage you to give.
  • Rest and relaxation. Minimum three weeks paid annual vacation for all team members.
  • Flexibility. Flexible work schedules and remote work options.

Our people make us great

We love working with creative and open-minded people who bring imagination and courage to work, who treat others with respect and kindness, and who act on their generosity each day. We're committed to building an equitable, inclusive, and collaborative workplace that welcomes and encourages members of traditionally underrepresented groups to join our team. We provide equal opportunity and consideration to all qualified applicants. If accommodations are needed during the hiring process, please let us know.
