Job summary

The City of Woodstock is hiring a part-time Assistant Instructor for Aquatics to support Lifesaving Society swim programs across age groups. The role reports to the Manager of Aquatics and Recreation Programs and involves assisting with lesson delivery and parent inquiries.

Queuing duties include preparing the deck and pool pre-instruction and assisting with evaluations and class setup. Unionized, with benefits and a strong team environment.

Qualifications

• Lifesaving Assistant Water Safety Instructor Certificate.
• Bronze Cross Certificate or National Lifeguard.
• Standard First Aid and CPR-C.
• Excellent physical condition.
• Ability to pleasantly deal with the public.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the instruction Lifesaving Society Swim programs (Preschool, Parent and tot, Youth and Adult).
• Assists the Instructor by delivering swim lessons and evaluating candidates.
• Helps answer questions/concerns from parents.
• Performs other duties and helps set up deck and pool before instruction periods.
