Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a dedicated dining services team member in a senior residence setting. You will serve meals to residents and guests, set tables, deliver trays, and support dishwashing and cleaning tasks to maintain a welcoming dining area.

Responsibilities include assisting with catering and special events, training new culinary staff, and complying with health and safety regulations. A focus on resident rights and quality improvement will guide daily work and collaboration with

Qualifications

Preference for experience in food service with seniors
Excellent customer service skills
Must be physically able to lift and stand for long shifts
Second language skills are an asset
VPS (Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening) within 6 months or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner
To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required
To assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery at the conclusion of each dining service
To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required
To assist with catering and participate in special occasions and theme events
To assist in the orientation and training of new culinary employees
To follow health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures
To comply with provincial regulations and department policies and procedures
To attend in-service training to better serve residents
To participate in staff meetings and Quality Improvement programs
To uphold the organization’s values and Code of Conduct
To complete all other tasks as assigned
