Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Canada is hiring for a dining service assistant. You will serve meals to residents and guests, set and clear tables, and deliver tray service with professionalism. You will also help with dishware cleaning and maintain kitchen and dining area cleanliness.

Preference for those with food service experience and seniors care. You must be able to lift heavy items, stand for long periods, and may be required to obtain VPS clearance within six months.

Qualifications

• Preference given to individuals with experience in the food service industry and working with seniors.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand or walk for most of the shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Must obtain current VPS clearance within 6 months of hire.

Wage per hour: $18.58

Key Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery at the conclusion of each dining service.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area.
• Assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new culinary employees.
• Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
• Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.
• Be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote them.
• Attend in-service training as required to better serve the needs of the residents.
• Attend staff meetings to stay aware of changes in the residence.
• Participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
• Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy regarding ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in the Company’s Code of Conduct.
• Complete all other tasks as assigned.

Required Education, Credentials and Experience
