Job summary

Great Canadian Entertainment is seeking a Server in Halifax, NS to provide outstanding guest service and high-quality food and beverage service in a fast-paced setting. You will work under the supervision of the F&B Supervisor and align with Casino Nova Scotia’s culture of delivering exceptional experiences.

Requirements include Grade 12, Serve Right, and at least 1 year of F&B serving experience, with strong communication and organizational abilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Completion of the Serve Right certificate is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of food and beverage serving experience.
  • Proven strong sales and organizational skills.
  • Proven GEM skills are required.
  • Must be energetic and able to work quickly under pressure.
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional guest service to dining guests.
  • Provides full-table service following established standards of service.
  • Cleans, buses and sets tables.
  • Performs other cleaning duties as required including Server side duties.
  • Works as a member of the team and provides support to co-workers on shift.
  • Finds ways to play; you are serious about work, without being serious in your demeanor.
  • Chooses to make everyday a great day.
  • Stays focused in order to be there.
  • Delivers an exceptional entertainment experience to internal and external guests to ensure you make their day.

Job description

Under the direction of the F&B Supervisor, the Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service and quality food and beverage service in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Above all else, must embrace and be aligned with Casino Nova Scotia’s culture and philosophy of providing outstanding entertainment experiences.

Job Duties
  • Provides exceptional guest service to dining guests
  • Provides full-table service following established standards of service
  • Cleans, buses and sets tables
  • Performs other cleaning duties as required including Server side duties
  • Works as a member of the team and provides support to co-workers on shift to ensure an overall positive experience for all guests
  • Other assigned duties as required
  • Finds ways to play; you are serious about work, without being serious in your demeanor
  • Chooses to make everyday a great day
  • Stays focused in order to be there
  • Delivers an exceptional entertainment experience to internal and external guests to ensure you make their day
Minimum Qualifications
  • Embraces the Casino Nova Scotia culture and philosophy and has a playful, infectious and "all about the guest" attitude!
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent is required
  • Completion of the Responsible Service Certificate “Serve Right - it’s just good business” is required
  • Minimum 1 year of food and beverage serving experience is required
  • Proven strong sales and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, is required
  • Proven GEM skills are required
  • Must be energetic and able to work quickly, under pressure, in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, is required
  • Proven ability to commit to offering our guests the highest level of guest service
  • Satisfactory attendance is required
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Must be friendly, detailed oriented, fun and outgoing!
  • WHMIS training an asset
