Job summary

Great Canadian Entertainment's Casino Nova Scotia in Halifax is seeking a Buffet Attendant who takes pride in quality food presentation to create the best culinary experiences for casino guests. This role requires collaboration, multi-tasking, and strong communication to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include keeping the buffet line clean during open hours, replenishing hot and salad items, restocking dessert stations, and ensuring utensils and setups are prepared

Qualifications

• Embraces the Casino Nova Scotia culture with a guest-first attitude.
• Basic Food Safety Certificate is an asset (for external candidates, to be obtained within 90 days at own expense).
• Food & Beverage experience is an asset.
• Must be able to work various shifts including nights, back shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Must have excellent customer service skills with guests and co-workers.
• Must be able to lift 25kg.

• Maintains cleanliness of Buffet Line during Open Hours.
• Replenish & Maintains all Hot Buffet food items
• Replenishing of Salad Buffet
• Replenish & Restocking of Dessert Station
• Ensuring all appropriate food utensils available for Guests
• Ensuring buffet line is set Prior to opening
• Assist with break down & Buffet closing duties
• Maintains cleanliness of Ice Cream Machine
• Minimal Preparations of Salad station Condiments
• Supports culinary team to ensure efficient operation of all culinary operations
• Finds ways to play; you are serious about work, without being serious
• Chooses to make everyday a great day
• Stays focused in order to be there
• Delivers an exceptional entertainment experience to internal and external guests to ensure you make their day
• Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, employees, vendors and regulators
• Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed
