Job summary

Gateway Casinos is seeking a Security Officer for a temporary part-time six-month contract at our Woodstock location. You will oversee security across the casino, ensuring guests and employees are safe while maintaining a welcoming environment.

Under provincial gaming regulations, you will deter theft and fraud, respond to incidents, monitor alarm panels, and provide first aid as needed. This role requires flexible hours, strong customer service, and the ability to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in a security role.
• Proven, high level of customer service.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• Smart Serve Certification.
• Ability to obtain Category 2 Gaming Assistant registration with the AGCO.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Good judgment and understanding of casino operations.

Responsibilities

• Control access to the facility and sensitive areas.
• Monitor alarm panels and control and issue keys.
• Write reports, maintain a daily log and conduct investigations.

Pay Rate: $22.74 per hour

Key Responsibilities

What You Bring

• Minimum 6 months experience in a security role.

• Solid analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• Ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
• Sensitive in dealing with people and proactive in providing solutions.
• Good judgment and understanding of casino operations.
• Ability to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends
• Smart Serve Certification
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Capacity to physically restrain and secure individuals using prescribed techniques.
• Social perceptiveness and good vision to identify people.
