Job summary

Securitas Canada Limited is hiring part-time Security Guards for Steinbach, MB. The role involves patrolling, monitoring access, and reporting incidents to protect client properties and personnel. Training is provided to obtain or upgrade security credentials.

Ideal candidates have reliable transportation, strong customer service, and basic computer skills. On-site duties include responding to alarms and maintaining site safety during shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid provincial Security Guard License (preferred).
• Working knowledge of security operations and procedures.
• Reliable transportation to site.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Able to write routine logs and reports.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Able to walk, stand and patrol.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• First Aid/ CPR is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for security and safety.
• Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and inspect protection devices.
• Preserves order and enforces site regulations for personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Controls access to client site through the admission process.
• Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for hazards and violations.
• Provides excellent customer service while minimizing risk to client property.
• Monitors intrusion detection systems using alarm and video software.
• Uses computer systems to monitor sites and complete trainings.
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in emergencies or investigations.

If you don’t currently hold a valid security guard license or certificate, we will pay for your training and guide you through every step of the process of obtaining your full security license.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property, assets, and personnel.
• Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
• Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process.
• Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
• Satisfies client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client property and assets.
• Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.
• Uses computer systems and software to monitor sites and complete basic trainings.
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid provincial Security Guard License (Preferred)
• Working knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Reliable means of transportation
• Excellent organizational skills
• Able to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports
• Basic computer skills such as the ability to use Microsoft Office.
• Able to walk, stand, and conduct patrols
• Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
• First Aid/ CPR is considered an asset
