Job summary

The Municipality of Grey Highlands is seeking a Part-time Seasonal Transportation Operator to help maintain municipal roads, perform snow removal and operate heavy equipment. The role is 20 hours per week with potential for up to 30 hours, scheduling includes early morning shifts and weekend work during winter.

You must have Grade 12, at least 2 years of heavy equipment experience, and a valid DZ license. This seasonal post runs Nov 2, 2026 to Apr 2, 2027, with benefits including a contributory

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment.
• Valid DZ driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Safely maintains municipal transportation infrastructure, facilities and equipment for road maintenance and construction.
• Perform early morning road inspections and assist with snow removal.
• Operate heavy equipment (graders, snow plows, backhoes) as needed.
• Respond to emergencies to restore roads to safe conditions.
• Maintain equipment to ensure safe operation and report maintenance needs.
• Communicate with the public in a courteous manner.
• Follow OHSA and safety procedures at all times.
