Job summary

West Nipissing is seeking Crossing Guards for Verner and Sturgeon Falls crossings to ensure the safety of school-aged children up to grade 8. The role is part-time/casual from September to June, with morning and afternoon shifts.

Requirements include being at least 18, able to communicate in French, and a satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector check. Training and annual re-application occur as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to verbally communicate in French.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check required.

Responsibilities

• Safely assist school-aged children to cross streets at designated crossings.
• Document and communicate incidents or unsafe conditions to management, school officials and Nipissing West OPP as needed.
• Operate a STOP sign and maintain safe crossing conditions for students.
