Job summary

Penticton General Hospital, part of Interior Health Authority, is seeking a Relief Part-Time Nursing Unit Clerk for the Acute Inpatient Psychiatry Unit in Penticton, BC. The role focuses on administrative support, order transcription, data entry, and coordinating patient appointments.

You will maintain charts, update health records, manage timekeeping, and serve as a communications link within the unit. Biweekly rotations with specific Thursday/Friday shifts apply.

Qualifications

• Clerical and data entry duties in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with scheduling and chart management.
• Ability to transcribe physicians’ orders accurately.
• Maintain timekeeping records and payroll inputs.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizing, processing, coordinating and transcribing physicians’ orders.
• Acting as a communication link for the Unit.
• Scheduling, booking and coordinating patient/resident appointments.
• Assembling and maintaining charts and entering data into health record systems.
• Clerical duties including data entry, filing, reports, and meeting minutes.
• Observing call signals and relaying messages to appropriate staff.
