Job Title: Physical Therapist (School-Based)

Location: Clarksburg, CA 95612

Job Type: Part-Time, Contract

Start Date: ASAP – June 6th (with potential for continuous assignment)

Pay Rate: $60.00+/hr

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT) to provide school-based services for a TK (Transitional Kindergarten) student with a genetic disorder similar to cerebral palsy. This student requires weekly Physical Therapy Services to support mobility, strength, and functional independence in the school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 45 minutes of physical therapy per week, with additional compensatory time available to ensure compliance with the student’s needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the student’s 1:1 aide, teachers, and support team to implement and reinforce therapy goals.
  • Utilize developmentally appropriate strategies to promote gross motor skills, postural control, balance, and functional movement.
  • Support the student in accessing and navigating the school environment effectively.
  • Integrate AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices into therapy sessions to enhance communication and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records and document progress toward therapy goals.
  • Communicate with parents and the educational team to ensure continuity of care and alignment of therapeutic interventions.
Schedule & Flexibility
  • The specific day for therapy sessions is flexible but must be completed within school hours.
  • The student is dismissed daily at 1:00 PM.
  • In-person services are required; parents are not open to virtual therapy.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of California.
  • Experience working with children with neuromuscular disorders, cerebral palsy, or similar conditions.
  • Familiarity with AAC devices and integrating them into therapy sessions.
  • Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to the student’s individual needs.
