A leading community pharmacy network in Springhill, Nova Scotia is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join their team. This role involves supporting pharmacists in patient care, managing prescriptions, and performing various clerical tasks. Candidates should have experience as a Pharmacy Assistant and excellent communication skills. The position offers flexibility in scheduling, requiring 10 to 20 hours per week, primarily during evenings and weekends, fostering a patient-first approach in a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy is preferred.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Skilled in using Kroll and accurate in prescription data entry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes occasionally.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists in providing patient care.
• Greet customers and answer phone calls professionally.
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions.
• Count, measure, and package medications as per protocols.
• Receive and stock medications, monitor inventory levels.
• Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy area.
• Perform clerical tasks and assist with insurance claims.
