Job summary

Bayshore Medical Personnel in Halifax, NS is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant for a full-time contract. Work is Monday to Friday daytime hours with no nights or weekends.

Under the Pharmacist's supervision, you will assist with compounding, packaging and labeling, maintaining prescription records and conducting inventories of medications. Candidates need at least 3 years of Pharmacy Assistant experience in the last five years, BLS for Healthcare Provider, and a Pharmacy Assistant/Technician diploma;

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of Pharmacy Assistant experience within the last five years providing direct patient care.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider.
• Diploma in a Pharmacy Assistant or Pharmacy Technician program is a strong asset.
• N95 mask fit certification as part of onboarding.
• WHMIS certification as part of onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Assist in compounding, packaging and labeling pharmaceutical products.

Bayshore Medical Personnel is excited to announce a full-time contract opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Halifax, NS! We're looking for dedicated professionals with at least 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant.

This is a great opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant looking for Monday - Friday day shifts only (no nights, no weekends), and who is ready for an exciting challenge working with an extremely unique and rewarding patient population!

Under the direction of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Assistant will assist in providing pharmacy services such as: compounding, packaging and labeling pharmaceutical products, maintaining prescription records, and conducting inventories of medications and pharmaceutical products.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years of Pharmacy Assistant experience within the last five (5) years providing direct patient care, and working in one or more clinical settings, such as a hospital or community setting.

Candidates Must Also Have

• Current certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent
• Diploma in a Pharmacy Assistant or Pharmacy Technician program from a post-secondary school is a strong asset

Other Requirements (facilitated By Bayshore During Onboarding)

• Current N95 mask fit certificate CSA Standards Z94.4 (within 2 years)
• Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) Certification (within 2 years)
