Job summary

Sobeys Inc. in Vancouver is seeking a Meat Production Clerk to directly serve customers and expertly cut and prepare meat for display at our Safeway location. You will follow company procedures and contribute to appealing merchandise displays while upholding safety standards.

The role requires previous retail meat cutting experience, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Compensation is hourly and aligned with location and experience.

Qualifications

• Previous retail meat cutting experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of various cuts of meat is an asset; Safeway training will be provided.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Must communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Following company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
• Greeting customers in a polite and friendly manner
• Providing superior customer service in line with Safeway’s programs
• Cutting and preparing meat products for display using knives and saws
• Stocking meat products on shelves and in showcases
• Building and maintaining merchandise displays in line with Safeway programs
• Using commercial power equipment safely
• Writing and preparing orders
• Receiving and rotating product
• Filling and maintaining product showcases
• Cleaning and sanitizing the work area
