Job summary

Shannex Incorporated in Bedford, Nova Scotia is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join the DePaul Hall Annex team. You will deliver total nursing care and coordinate resident needs with the care team.

The role involves assessment, planning and documentation, including medication administration, and leadership to health services staff. Flexible shifts and ongoing education are offered along with comprehensive benefits, pension, relocation assistance and onsite parking.

Qualifications

Graduate from an approved Practical Nursing Program.
Current registration with provincial regulatory body.
CPR & First Aid Certification (required).
Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening on hire.
Experience with elderly in long-term care is an asset.

Responsibilities

Provide total nursing care and functions per resident-directed care philosophy.
Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, document and direct resident needs with medical team.
Administer medications per policy and ensure accurate documentation.
Lead and mentor health services staff; support adherence to policies and procedures.
Promote communication and compliance with care plans and safety standards.
