Cypress Restaurant in Port Alberni, BC is seeking dependable Part-Time Line Cooks to join a fast-paced kitchen team. You’ll prepare dishes according to recipes, keep a clean workstation, and help bring daily specials to life.

We offer hourly wages CA$19.00–CA$24.00, company-paid health and dental benefits, and opportunities to work day or evening shifts while developing culinary skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe certification.
• Positive attitude and genuine interest in preparing great food.
• Reliability and punctuality.
• Ability to stay organized during busy service periods.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
• Availability to work Part-time day or evening shifts.
• Ability to lift at least 30 lbs safely.
• Ability to safely use cleaning products and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, presentation guidelines, and quality standards.
• Keep service running smoothly by preparing accurate, consistently presented dishes in a timely manner.
• Help bring daily menu items and specials to life.
• Support other kitchen stations with food preparation as needed.
• Plate dishes with care, ensuring each order looks appetizing and meets our standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation.
• Monitor ingredients and supplies and communicate restocking needs.
• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures.
• Work closely with kitchen and service staff to create an excellent experience for every guest.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chef or Management team.
