Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) in Vancouver, BC, seeks a part-time Consulting Geochemist (20 hours/week) for a 6-month term, with possible extension. You will lead geochemical studies, mentor teams, and support environmental assessments and permitting for major projects.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Geochemistry or related field.
• 6+ years consulting experience in geochemistry, water resource management, impact assessment, and permitting.
• Registered professional in a Canadian jurisdiction.
• Experience leading geochemical characterization studies and ML/ARD management programs.
• Strong understanding of environmental assessment, permitting processes, and regulatory drivers in mining.
• High degree of technical competence and broad knowledge of impact assessment best practices.
• Experience developing technical analyses and geochemical models.
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead geochemical characterization studies and ML/ARD management for projects.
• Serve as senior technical reviewer to ensure deliverables meet client expectations on scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
• Develop mass balance and geochemical models to provide client value.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design modelling studies.
• Expand ERM's integrated water management services across Canada.
• Drive growth in environmental impact assessment, land planning, siting, permitting, risk and water resources management.
• Cultivate long-term client relationships and leverage ERM networks for business development.
• Provide senior technical expertise on major projects across Canada and globally.
