Job summary

ERM is hiring a Consulting Geochemist based in Vancouver, BC for a part-time, 6-month assignment. You will lead geochemical characterization studies, ML/ARD management, and environmental permitting inputs for large-scale projects, mentoring teams and delivering high-quality technical work.

The role requires MSc or PhD in Geochemistry, 6+ years consulting experience, and a registered professional in Canada. Travel to client locations across a broad geographic area is expected.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Geochemistry or related field.
• 6+ years consulting experience in geochemistry, water resource management, impact assessment, and permitting.
• Registered professional in a Canadian jurisdiction.
• Experience leading geochemical characterization studies and ML/ARD management programs.
• Strong understanding of environmental assessment, permitting processes and regulatory drivers in mining.

Responsibilities

• Be the lead geochemist responsible for technical execution of geochemical characterization studies and ML/ARD management inputs into environmental assessment and permitting for large-scale projects.
• Serve as senior technical reviewer to ensure deliverables meet client expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
• Deliver insights and value through technical analyses and development of mass balance and geochemical models.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop modeling studies that provide client value.
• Provide expertise to expand integrated water management services to clients in Canada.
• Drive growth across environmental impact assessment, land planning, siting and permitting, risk assessment, and water resources.
• Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and contribute to business development.
