Job summary

ERM is seeking a Principal Technical Consultant, Geologist (Casual), based preferably in Toronto or Vancouver, to lead mineral resource estimation projects and tailings assessment across Canada and beyond. You will mentor teams, ensure CIM/JORC/SAMREC compliance, and influence client decisions on major projects.

The role offers flexible hours, international project exposure, and a strong focus on innovation and technical excellence within ERM's mining and resource consulting practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or equivalent experience.
• Professional Geologist designation in at least one Canadian province.
• 6+ years of experience in geological and mining environments.
• Experience with precious, base, and critical minerals.
• Advanced knowledge of resource estimation and international reporting standards (CIM, JORC, SAMREC).
• Tailings resource estimation experience, including modelling and assessment.
• Proficiency with Leapfrog Edge, Datamine, Isatis and similar platforms.
• Strong organizational, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
• Driver's License and willingness to travel across a large geographic area.

Responsibilities

• Validate geological data and QA/QC procedures.
• Develop 3D geological models and perform geostatistical analyses.
• Conduct grade interpolation and validate estimation results.
• Prepare Mineral Resource estimation reports aligned with CIM, JORC, NI 43-101, and SK1300 standards.
• Undertake tailings resource characterization and estimation across facilities.
• Site visits and laboratory inspections domestically and internationally.
• Support corporate due diligence and technical assessments.
• Mentor and develop technical teams across Canada.
