Job summary

LifeLabs LP in Brampton, ON is seeking a Lab Patient Technician to join as a Part Time Regular employee. The role covers specimen collection, phlebotomy, ECG work, and related testing procedures.

You will handle patient interactions with care and maintain accurate data entry for test processing. Responsibilities include preparing specimens for transport, ensuring adherence to protocols, and supporting the lab team with documentation and customer service.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent is preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience is an asset.
• ECG training or experience is an asset.
• Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
• Strong customer/patient service in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, explain the specimen collection process, and ensure test protocol adherence.
• Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
• Collect and document special tests and complete related paperwork.
• Maintain client relationships and respond to inquiries.
