HOUSEKEEPING AIDE - Extendicare

As a valued member of our housekeeping and maintenance team, you will provide a clean and safe environment for residents as well as staff, in accordance with policies, procedures, and work routines.

This position is for our Home, located in [Location].

Available opportunities include: Full-Time/Part-Time/Casual; Day/Evening/Night shifts.

What you’ll be doing

1. Using specified cleaning/disinfecting/sanitizing agents to ensure a clean and safe environment for residents and staff inside and outside of the Long-Term Care facility.
2. Adhering to established company policies and procedures regarding infection prevention and control, quality assurance, fire, and safety.
3. Participating in staff meetings as assigned, attending in-service education programs, and completing all mandatory education.
4. Collaborating with other departments on tasks such as transferring residents, moving, ordering and storing supplies, and maintenance/distribution of furniture and equipment.

What you bring

• Ability to handle considerable heavy lifting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and moving equipment, climbing ladders, and exposure to biochemical agents and wet floors.
• Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
• Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening to be provided.
