Job summary

Oxford Learning Oakville North is growing and seeks enthusiastic High School Math Teacher-Tutors to join our award-winning team in Oakville, Ontario. This part-time role offers after-school hours (3:00pm–8:00pm) and some Saturdays, with a focus on mentoring and engaging students in Grades 9–12 math.

All lessons are prepared through our proprietary Oxford Learning methodology, so you can focus on teaching, connecting with students, and making an impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Current fourth-year students with tutoring experience may apply.
  • Teaching certification is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Grades 9-12 math curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to 3 students at a time after school.
  • Teach online and in-person sessions.
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies.
  • Complete post-lesson notes and daily updates.
  • Maintain friendly, professional demeanor.

High School Math Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Oxford Learning Oakville North is growing, and we’re looking for enthusiastic High School Math Teacher-Tutors to join our award-winning team. Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours 3:00pm - 8:00pm as well as some Saturdays (9:00am - 1:00pm). A commitment until the end of the school year in June is preferred. Continuing through the summer and into the coming school year is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, and vectors.
Experience
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities (Position Details)
  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
  • Teaching online and in-person
  • Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post-lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
