Oxford Learning Meadowvale in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking a Part-Time High School Bio/Chem/Phys Teacher/Tutor. The role focuses on grades 9–12 science and math, with after-school and evening hours (4p-8p) and Saturday shifts, teaching up to three students per session in-person.

Applicants should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or have a related certification; teaching certification is an asset. Relocation is not offered, and a vulnerable-sector check is required.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
• Teaching certification is an asset.
• Good knowledge of Grades 9–12 math and science, especially senior math, vectors, physics, chemistry, biology.
• Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at Grade 9–12 level.
• Strong English written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to three students at a time after school hours.
• Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Fill in post-lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Job Details

Employment Type: Part Time / Salary: $20.00 to $21.00 per hour / Schedule: Monday & Wednesday 4p‑8p, Tuesday & Thursday 4p‑8p, Saturdays 9a‑1p. Requires availability through school year and possibly summer.

Position Requirements

All Teacher‑Tutors are after‑school and evening hours (4p‑8p) and Saturdays (9a‑1p). Full commitment to the school year required. In‑person only; relocation not available. Vulnerable‑sector screening mandatory.

Qualifications

• Currently working toward a Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
• Teaching certification is an asset.
• Good knowledge of current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum; especially senior math (Advanced Functions and Calculus), vectors, physics, chemistry, biology.
• Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at Grade 9‑12 level.
• Strong English written and oral communication skills.
• Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
• Ability to multitask and work with up to three students simultaneously.
